Seven West African coastal countries have created a mechanism to protect marine environment. The Environment Ministers of Cape Verde, Gambia, Guinea, Guinea-Bissau, Mauritania, Senegal, and Sierra Leone reached the deal at the end of their four-day meeting in Nouakchott. They pledged to strongly search for funding for the coastal conservation programme.
