Priority for road links in the most impenetrable parts of Algeria – almost all in desert or mountainous country. The most important project for the Maghreb government is the completion of the Tindouf-Adrar axis, which runs from the frontier with Morocco to the heart of the Algerian desert. It consists of 550 kilometres of tarmac roads; the first 160 kilometre stretch has already been completed.
