AUSTRALIA: 3 PERSONS INFECTED WITH SUPER-BACTERIUM NDM-1

Three Australians back from a trip in India were infected with the super-bacterium NDM-1. The group also includes a woman who underwent plastic surgery in Bombay. The super-bacterium is also resistent to powerful antibiotics and has infected at least 50 persons in the United Kingdom up to now. A patient died in Belgium. The review ‘The Lancet’ raised an alarm in an article expressing fear for a mass contagion.
