BANGLADESH: 824 CHARGED WITH PROVOKING THE FUSILIER REVOLT

Up to 824 Army officers are being prosecuted in Bangladesh for provoking the 2009 fusilier revolt. The final toll of the uprising was of 74 dead, 57 of which were officers. The defendants are accused of having killed their higher-ranking officers, stealing weapons and starting several fires.
