BERLUSCONI WARNS REGIONS TO CURB PUBLIC SPENDING

Berlusconi warns regional administrations that public money must not be wasted: cuts to public spending necessary. The Prime MInister believes that recovery of production and consumption have been possible due to the rigour in public expenditure, offset by the need of relaunching the GDP.

“I understand that governors defend the status quo, but money squandering must be avoided and privileges, too”, he added. Useless institutions need to be closed down. The government has done much”without searching for money in citizens’ pockets.”
