BLACK TIDE: ALEX LANDS, INTERFERING WITH BP OPERATIONS

The hurricane Alex has landed south of the spill area, but is still affecting the containment operations. The first hurricane of the Atlantic season has started to lessen its intensity, but is still classified as a category 2 (out of 5, according to the Saffir-Simpson scale). IN the meanwhile, some 17.000 people have been evacuated form the Mexican fishing villages south of the US border.
