China released blind lawyer Chen Guangcheng, who was named also for the Nobel Peace Prize. The Chinese legal activist, 38, was put under house arrest to finish serving his sentence. Chen Guangcheng, blind since childhood, is a self-taught lawyer who filed a class-action lawsuit against the Province of Shandong in eastern China, on behalf of its inhabitants over the province’s 7,000 forced abortions and sterilizations .
