Rome – “We need to underpin the construction of Europe”, says Bank of Italy Governor Mario Draghi. Opening the second annual European Firms in a Global Economy (EFIGE) conference, he said “we certainly need stricter and better coordinated budget discipline”. Mr Draghi went on to say “but what we need above all else is to progress structural reforms to kick-start potential growth, within the framework of a new European Pact”. “This should be our ambition”, he said.
