Peter Thiel, a Member of Facebook’s Board of Directors does not expect the company to go public before 2012. “We will not launch an IPO for a while,” he told Fox TV, “and I think we will follow the example set by Google, which did not go public for some time. We will remain a private company for as long as we can, at least until 2012.” Thiel then criticized the film “The Social Network” in which a profile of Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg is portrayed, described as “very inaccurate.” In Thiel’s opinion, the only positive aspect of the film is that “young Americans understand that it is still possible to set up great companies in this country.” Zuckerberg too has said he is in no hurry to launch an IPO for the group’s most important social network, Facebook.
