FOOTBALL: LIVERPOOL WILL BE SOLD TO OWNERS OF RED SOX

The Liverpool team will be sold to the US company owning the Red Sox, Boston’s glorious baseball team. The English Club’s Board of Directors gave green light to selling the team to the New England Sports Ventures (Nesv). “I’m happy they succeeded to close a sales negotiation that was long and in-depth”, Martin Broughton, the Chairman of the Liverpool team affirmed. The NESV’s offer was judged to be the most consistent with the criteria established, Broughton explained, “also because their philosophy is all based on winning, as the Red Sox have also showed”. The Liverpool, which had a very bad start in the Premier League, is owned by two American entrepreneurs,Tom Hicks and George Gillett, who are now in economic trouble.
