FORMER GERMAN CHANCELLOR REJECTS MEDIA AWARD

Berlin – Former German Chancellor Helmut Kohl has turned down the annual “Medienpreis” awarded by French and German media. Kohl was nominated for “exceptional merit” in promoting Franco-German relations and his rejection of the prize is seen as a slap in the face from the former chancellor, motivated by the less-than-happy relations now existing between Germany and France.
