FRANCE: TEAR GAS USED ON DEMONSTRATORS IN NANTERRE

Parisian police fired tear gas at a group of demonstrators who had set fire to a car. The violence broke out when around 300 students tried to picket Joliot-Curie lycee in Nanterre, one of the 261 French schools hit by the wave of protests against the Sarkozy government’s pension reforms.
