GREECE’S DEFICIT CUT BY 42% IN FIRST SEMESTER

Greece has cut its own deficit by 42% in the first semester, said Minister for Finance Giorgos Papakonstantinou. In his opinion the country has “reached the goals” it had set for itself. In this year’s period between January and June the gap in the budget fell to 11.450 billion euros from the 19.685 billion euros of the first half of 2009.
