Three men were hanged in Yazd for drug trafficking and about 116 have already been executed this year. The Iranian news agency, ISNA, reports that 270 were executed last year. Murder, rape, armed robbery, drug trafficking and adultery are crimes that carry the death penalty in Iran. Iran is among the countries with the highest number of death penalties, along with China, Saudi Arabia and the United States. .
