ITALIAN POLITICS: FRATTINI, “PADANIA IS A NORTHERN LEAGUE SLOGAN”

Franco Frattini says that Padania is “a slogan that the Lega invented ages ago, which works for their people”.

Italy’s Foreign Minister was responding to journalists’ questions on the controversy sparked by the Speaker of the Chamber of Deputies, Gianfranco Fini.

Frattini stressed that were Padania to be seen merely as a slogan “that would not offend me at all and would not bother me one iota”.
