LIBYA: FRATTINI, NO COMMENT ON BISHOP MOGAVERO’S STANCE

Franco Frattini made no comment on the stance taken by the Bishop Mogavero of Mazzara del Vallo. Mogavero yesterday accused Italy of “inertia” over Libya’s boardings of Italian fishing boats. The foreign minister simply said: “This is the stance of a bishop and I am not going to comment on the stance of that bishop. It is not the stance of the Italian Bishops’ Conference.”
