SPORTS: FOOTBALL, SWISS COURT: MUTU TO PAY CHELSEA 17 MLN

Lausanne – A Swiss court says Adrian Mutu must pay a mega fine of 17 bln euros to Chelsea, as ordered by the CAS. The Romanian Fiorentina player, who has been disqualified for nine months after failing a doping test, saw the sentence issued by the Court of Arbitration for Sport, in the wake of his sacking for taking cocaine, temporarily lifted in October.

It now remains to be seen if Mutu will be able to pay Chelsea its 17,173.990 euros, plus the 5% interest that has been running as from 28 September 2008, on top of the court fees.
