LONDRA – Hanno vinto i più forti. E hanno vinto da più forti. Surclassando l’Australia con un 34-17 che non ammette repliche. Gli All Blacks sono i campioni del mondo di Rugby 2015. E sono anche la prima squadra a vincere per tre volte il trofeo. Hanno giocato un mondiale in costante crescendo. Hanno giocato con intelligenza, facendo il massimo quando serviva il massimo (vedi Francia umiliata ai quarti di finale), soffrendo quando c’era da soffrire (Sudafrica in semifinale). E hanno sfatato il tabù della vittoria in Europa.
La Nuova Zelanda ha dovuto lottare e soffrire. Si è trovata improvvisamente a dover rigiocare quasi da capo una partita fino a quel momento totalmente controllata, una partita che troppo presto sembrava vinta. Gli All Blacks sono partiti forte. Con tre calci in una manciata di minuti si sono portati sul 9-3. E poi hanno dilagato fino al 21-3 dopo una decina di minuti del secondo tempo.
Ma l’Australia, nel momento in cui sembrava spacciata ha tirato fuori gli attributi. Complici un rilassamento degli All Blacks e una superiorità numerica per un cartellino giallo gli australiani in pochi minuti hanno messo a segno due mete portandosi addosso ai neozelandesi fino al 21-17.
E così con quasi 20 minuti da giocare è iniziata una nuova partita. E là la Nuova Zelanda ha tirato fuori il meglio del repertorio. Col ritorno della parità numerica il mondiale è finito. Prima un drop di Carter (se ne sono visti pochi in questo mondiale) da metà campo ha restituito il +7 agli All Blacks. Poi sempre Carter a dare il più 10 con un piazzato. E infine Barret per una meta la minuto 78 che ha archiviato la pratica. E alla fine la trasformazione del doppiaggio: 34-15 e All Blacks di nuovo in cima al mondo del rugby. Come nel 2011.
